Carterton run August 2008 from Wellington
With Seven Z3s and 13 people we had a good turnout for our drive to Clareville, Carterton, on a wet Sunday, 24 August. We all met at Caltex Rimutaka and were joined by a new member with photos of the Z3 he was waiting to take possession of.
We drove over the Rimutakas to Featherston and a coffee stop and then made a leisurely drive to our lunch venue, via some back roads to the west of the main road. The carpark at Devine was full so we all lined up along the main road and made a dash inside out of the rain. Many of us knew the building from an earlier incarnation as an antique shop, but now it is a great café which we can recommend if you’re travelling through the Wairarapa.
After lunch we made our way home, some of us stopping to buy fresh vegetables along the way. We’re looking forward to another Sunday drive soon but on a fine sunny day.
