Day run Wellington to Lake Ferry
The Wellington branch was out again last weekend. Here is their news.
Fish and Chips for Lunch
Fifteen of us ordered fish and chips for lunch, with one daring to be different and ordering pasta, which admittedly did look very tasty. We had a great turnout for our drive to Lake Ferry on Sunday, 18 May, with eight cars, all with two people. For the first time we were joined by a Z4 - welcome to Ray and Jenny.
The weather was superb as you would expect in Wellington and the Wairarapa on a fine autumn day.
We stopped for coffee in Featherston at Paula and Nigel's who had a roaring fire going for us.
Afterwards they led us down Western Lake and across to Lake Ferry – hardly another vehicle around.
It was a glorious day at Lake Ferry, so we sat outside in the sun, had lunch and got to know each other.
Eventually we departed in twos and threes, and some of us drove on to Martinborough for coffee at a vineyard and a bit more of soaking up the sun and telling lies.
It was getting cool by the time we arrived back in Wellington, in the dark, but still too nice to put the hood up. What a fabulous day out!
