November 4th 2012 Mystery Run
Well today the run went well even though the temperature never made it above 16. It was a mystery run and I am going to paste below the clues that everyone received at the start and you can decide if you would have made it to our final place in time for lunch. Christine, Keith, Chris, Janet, Jim, Yvonne, Mark, Susie, Keith, Raewyn, Peter, Lynn, John, Tina, Pat, Cam, Veena & friend and finally Joh and I. Many thanks to Mark for his hard work creating and ensuring the run went well.
" Wintergarden Road, Meet and greet, (Museum)
Head to where Stanley plays his tennis and onto his street. Go up hill to the way the motors go and head towards the south.
Take the first off ramp past the big new flyover, turning left onto the Market Road. 2nd right and onto where the ladies go the distance, turning right and then onto the way the Abbott took a left turn.
Turn right at around about Lunn and head for the highway. Then to the highway that Wellington took and proceed with all due care and attention to Hamilton’s Highway of the first state.
That’s the first tricky bit.
South you will be heading until you turn into the coffee stop just past Kura's papa. Fuel up if you need it, take five, grab a coldie, or better yet, a hottie and then get on your way again. Only one way you can go here, so go there.
Those who can remember them, recall the jingly jangly jumpers and dancers on Queen Street in the seventies. Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - -.
Take the 466th and turn left and follow the road east. Stay the course but don’t forget to bear left where Turner is or you’ll be Well Dunn.
Follow the way of the Ararimu to its natural conclusion. Then you turn right and follow the road with the same ending after Papa.
Follow this road to its natural conclusion (don’t turn right or you will end up in an Indian city with a new name (Mumbai). When you get to the end of this road………… Remember, Rimu, not Rata.
Turn right then head on to next intersection and turn left.
Follow this road past the old castle and when you can, bear left, as if you were going to Miranda’s place to dip your toes in the watery minerals. Keep going, and turn left at the next village to head for the water. (Surely you know where you are now)
When you notice gas on the side of the road, turn left again.
Lunch time it be, early or late, fish and chips, or through the gate.
Into the pub, then grab a brew. Hot that is, or you're in the poo.
Chat for a while, and chew the fat.
Then bound for home, to feed the cat."
Well, did you make it?
