Sunday 9th November 2014 Zealong Tea Plantation
Sunday 9th November 2014 Pat, Cam, Brian, Desre, Warwick, Cynthia, Rose, Ron, Joh and I met at 10.30am at the BP Connect Southern Motorway and headed south. It has been a stunning day, just perfect for topless driving which also got us a lot of interested looks. Along the way Veena, Ron, Ken (he found us on Facebook and decided to come and check us out) and Gol joined in by the Bombays and we continued through some beautiful green countryside to Candyland. We were greeted there by the Sunday drivers Club from Tauranga who were were joining us for lunch.
Those that were weak and rich ventured into the shop and came out much poorer and much weaker in resolve than before.
By now we had grown to 13 cars (even a corvette). Kim, David, Michael, Sam, Oliver (Happy 13th Birthday Oliver), Rodger, Vicki and Donna. We all left for the short drive to The Zealong Tea Estate http://zealong.com/zealong-tea-house-restaurant/ .
The place was beautiful. Tea pickers working in the fields, rolling countryside, a small lake and a lovely area for dining outside on the decks. Laura, Igor and Stephen joined us at the restaurant as they were in Hamilton for a few days.
Food very nice and company perfect. It seemed like no time at all when everyone was up and starting to head back home for another busy week.
Its days like this that make a busy insane week worthwhile. Looking forward to the dinner now on the 10th December.
Thanks to Pat for finding this lovely place and arranging the run.
See you at the dinner on the 10th December. Pauline.
